Ooh Mami!! Went here for the first time today, and was blown away. Just ate the leftovers for dinner. After I come here again, I'm adding it to my favorites.
Ok ok, I have a soft spot for family-owned hole-in-the-wall restaurants, since our fam used to run one. Had the lunch special pork adobo, oh man was it flavorful! They marinade the pork in vinegar, tamarind, and soy sauce, I believe, but it's really tangy. The plate was HUGE, big enough for 2 meals, always a plus in my book.
The filipino lady that runs the place is adorable, and her stocky upbeat son(?) is really cool, came up and asked how the food was, and when I gave the thumbs-up, he got all excited and gave me a high-five and a fist *pound*...
Not too many people were there at lunchtime, for whatever reason, which is another reason I feel compelled to drum up business for this place. Extremely relaxed atmosphere w/ the TV on. Has a real down-home feel, and the cooking sure tastes like home cooking too.
Ooh Mami!! :P Hopefully the Zoji crowd can give this place some business!
