Very good book. Loved the "futuristic" stuff that's already happening today, like the nets and 3D video games. Easy read, went quickly.

ok, i'm disturbed by orson scott card's political views, but i did like this book a lot (i can tell cuz i keep thinking about it). btw, i was partly motivated to read it cuz of the great zoji reviews :) go tipz! oh, and i just read 2 of the sequels, too... ender's shadow (the parallel story about bean's life) and speaker for the dead. the bean story was awesome... but i had some issues with the speaker book; i thought a lot of things were stupid and didn't make any sense. it also really made me wonder whether the author was very religious, so i had to find that out on wiki too. time to read shadow of the hegemon now.

One of the sci-fi classics. A fast, enjoyable read with an interesting twist.

This is a very cool story that I couldn't put down until I had finished it. Recruiting "special" children to be soldiers in this war against aliens was something that felt very real to me and I thoroughly enjoyed this book as well as the sequels.

In a bleak future where mankind is fighting an implacable and seemingly unreasoning insectoid enemy, the world is forced into recruiting children, the best and brightest, to train as soldiers. They are sent up to a space station, an Academy, to play wargames designed to hone their immense talents and intellects. Aside from its intriguing premise, the book is well written (in my humble opinion) and many readers will no doubt go on to read the sequels, starting with Speaker for the Dead. One of my favorite sci-fi novels.
